103 SPRINKLERS LATER

8 a.m.-7p.m. uninterrupted and focused. The outcome?  We can finally say, "We are finished!"  I honestly can't remember the last time that I had an operose day like I did today.  I am tired---I am sore---I am spent.  I don't believe that I have ever been so happy to have a project completed.  Bill and I worked ourselves to the bone to get this yard whipped into shape and seeded, and we did it.  After many hours of pipe measuring, coupling, gluing, cutting, leveling, and endless rounds of tilling, raking, shoveling, removing rocks, compressing dirt, fertilizing and finally seeding the soil, tonight @ approx. 7p.m. we reached the light at the end of our tunnel. What a long tunnel we just trudged through, but we did it and we did it together.  Need I say more?

I have to mention the kids as they too put in some effort after school to help us through this hideous job.  They helped as kids do (in their own dawdling way). They each carry their own weaknesses when it comes to hard work, but for the help that was offered (or bribed for) I am grateful.

I have an optimistic outlook for the future of our yard.  I hope it will be used, played in, ran in, and just plain enjoyed not only by our family, but by yours too (I know who reads my blog).  Just give us about 2 weeks and expect a BBQ and hopefully the sound of little feet and voices filling the night air as they do what kids do best.

Just a few pics for the memories of what we went through (not that I need reminders, as my back is reminder enough). However hard it was, it is now history and all we can do is live for more memories as they are already in the making.

And the sprinklers even work! And yes there are 103 of them.  I counted every one of them.  Aaahhh the joyous day has arrived that we can go out, drink in hand (water or pop) and just sit in my porch swing and marvel at our masterpiece.

I musn't forget to mention Bill's ingenuity in wiring this up and putting together the manifolds (both of which I refuse to do).

Don't think that I just ran around all day with camera in hand.  I took a 5 min. break to snap those shots....I couldn't pass it up.

HAPPY HAPPY DAY!
